I forget what year it was (maybe 2002), but No Doubt was performing at the Grammy's on TV and the guitar player was playing a '97 Collector. I could not believe my eyes. I still say this is one of the coolest guitars that Ovation ever made just in terms of how unique it was. Dave

The listing I posted went for $706.50 and the other one is at $622.84 with a little over 3 days left.

I guess a lot of other people think they're unique also.

I bought mine a year ago for $475.

Are prices going up or did I just get a good buy? :confused:

It is one one of the Collector series that proves Ovation can color outside the lines. :cool:

I've posted this before (too many times?) but the mom and pop here has a 1997 Collectors on consignment for $1200 asked.

97's seem to change hands pretty frequently. As long as they can be had for $500-$700. on ebay, the MnP's gonna sit on the $1200 consignment for quite some time. Dave

I think I understand the "changing hands" thing. I had a '97 2 or 3 years ago...ebay...$550. Then I found myself losing interest and wanting a more versatile guitar(I can't afford lots of guitars like some of you can).
I sold it a while after I got it to Stephent (I think). I soon came to miss that little guitar and my wife noticed...bless her heart. She bought one for my birthday last month.
I find my excitement waning, interested in my Pacemaker these days, but I'll never make the mistake of selling THIS one! John <>{

Hang on to it Bauerhillboy. A parlor guitar is a very special thing and the Ovation looks nice. I hope to put a 1997 Collector's in my family sometime. I enjoy my little guitars a lot feeling inspired when I play one, and think the Ovation would "take things to another level" as Tracey Ullman used to say. As far as changing hands, that seems to be our condition concerning guitars. We all wish to have 'em back after we sell, trade, etc. Funny thing, though, the one's I have given away, well, still feel good about giving them away...never gave away a bad one, rather one I really liked. There are dozens I wish I still had..........sigh. But on the other hand, I am slowly adding some of the ones I always wanted.
