Anybody for a help in deciding between these two?
I only know technical differences: what about the sound?
In addition: which possible other would you suggest?
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

Get a 1773LX. With the bridge moved to the center of the lower bout, and with the X bracing, the sound is much better than the 6773. I owned a 1764 (I think that was the model number), which was a 1983 Country Artist cutaway. Wonderful guitar, but really lacking in acoustic sound. Now I have a 1773LX and it's the best balance of acoustic sound, comfort, and plugged in sound.

There's just no contest.

Moody knows what he likes, and he's right about the 1773LX.

Is the Cedar top on the 1773LX better sounding than the Spruce top on the 6773LX?

12 frets and cedar top are a great combination. Get the 1773LX. Dave

I've bought a 1773 at last - and I'm quite happy with it!

Sure you can, Nourie!
At last I decided to get it from a dealer where I could try it: it was pretty good.
By the way, I discovered in the meanwhile it was the only 1773 available in all Italy (I mean the whole Nation) - and it had been the first shop I went into...
I got it for 1,500 Euro: it's somewhere very near 1,900USD.
I could have much cheaper options buying it from one of your "giant-dealer" (one out of all, and very kind, is ALPEP), but in that case I had to add not only shipping, but also taxes (20% here in Italy) and custom-toll (say another 5% upon the total), so...
If you play classic, or if you only like nylon strings, I'm pretty sure you can hardly find something better than 1773LX-4.
Easy to play and - last not least - aestetical masterpiece!

You're welcome.
Please let us know when the baby's arrived: from what I've heard, a nylon O is not that usual and you may have a special welcome!
Ciao from Rome.

Well guys, may I say, no matter if 1773 or 6773: if you can't stay with the one you love - love the one you're with...
Out of joke: I only tried 1773 'cause the other was not available ANYWHERE (and mine was the only one fisically available in whole Italy - both are not that usual here). I liked it - I bought it.
After 1 month my satisfaction has been increasing: the guitar is REALLY outstanding - extreme easyness of playing also by whom, like me, had been using steel strings for 35 years - its sound it's even more astonishing if you play without amplification, so
Nourie: your impacience is gonna be well served!
V74: I'm sure 6773 is TOP, as ours!
Cedar - Spruce... c'mon: let's play.

I haven't even told you guys the best part, I purchased it from a company that misquoted the price and are reputable enough to honor it. I stole this guitar for $891.00 US so not only do I get a great guitar it feels like christmas early! A blind Squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile!

Nice going, guys. I think the nylon Ovations are underrated. I prefer the sound of my 1713 to that of the traditional classical guitars.

Hey Mark in Boise,
I'ven't all that experience - I've been playing steel for 35 years ...well sometimes it happened to manage some nylon, important too - but I can tell you:
I THINK YOU'RE DAMNED RIGHT!!!

I'm sure you have much more access to classical guitar music there. My only song on either of my 2 nylon string Ovations is Classical Gas. Been working on it almost every day for a year and I'll have it down pretty soon. Then I'll need to find another song.

Got my Guitar last week and I have to say I Love it! Not only does it sound great, I can play much longer because of the nylon, I couldn't be happier, thanks again to all that helped me decide.
