Hi,
I'm looking for a BW or a Deacon. I don't care if it is scratched up to heck, missing knobs, pickguard, has mismatched tuning machines, has been refinished by a monkey, and has bits of the headstock busted off as long as it still plays and sounds like what it started life as (for the most part). If it is a bit of a project guitar I can handle that (barring any major neck damage). I am interested in original electronics with the notch filter but if that isn't there I'd still be interested. I've been wanting one of these things for a long time, can't justify spending for what comes across e-bay unless I unload some of my other gear and that is something that I just can't seem to find the time to do. Basically, I just want to have one to try out for a few months or years.

Alternatively, if you would rent one to me for a while (a month or two) that might work too. I just thought of that possibility and haven't really considered how that'd work but I take good care of stuff...especially if it isn't mine.

Thanks,
Mike

Your gonna love the guitar Mike. I too, had sticker shock when I first decided to go after one of these. I paid a lot but got the best there is. I just could not wait for one that was a deal. Not many around. Most of those end up being fixed by our resident luthiers and never make the bargain basement deals program. And yeah we are a few years to late to get them for $300- $400 in good shape. They are very quickly becoming a real desirable guitar.

I would be so bold as to say perhaps Ovation might want to reproduce a real limited number of these????? As long as they wern't priced off the charts they'd sell just fine. A run of 250 or so??? They can use mine as a prototype if they like???
Anyway... Good luck Mike. They are fun to play, even though they are heavy, and they hang real nice. Neck action is up there with the best of them and the sounds are great! Get the deacon with the powered pickups, all kinds of strange combinations of styles when you go through a processor.

Depending on price and your location, there might be a few available.

Check the for sale section of my OFC gallery for one that I have available.
