Hello, I am new here and looking for

1) nylon string models, mainly 1773 or 6773 (standard or LX)

or

2) wide nut steel string models, mainly 6774 (standard or LX).

Only US made Ovations, even older ones (with pickup) .. I am not an expert on the older models, so any suggestions are welcome.

I expect good condition, original case and willingness to ship internationally.

Thanks, Petri

I am fine now, I guess, as a 1773LX is heading towards this cold land ..

I am far from quick!

It only took the Mothership a few days to add my upgrades and the guitar was on its way back to me. It arrived about a month ago and I just opened the box the other night. Granted, I've been spending a lot of time with my live alone uncle while he receives treatment for a health issue. Also, coming from the Mothership, I knew everything with the guitar would be right on.

see... I am far from quick!

Talking about the guitar, compliments to the guys and gals at the Mothership. The guitar played great right out of the box and the upgrades were just what I asked for.

Jim, Thanks for sending the LX directly to the Mothership for me. I hope you don't mind that I am passing it on, but I really want to order one with a tortoise binding.

:D

Pretty one. I don't think I've seen a 1773LX in either real life or a non-stock picture. Very nice.

Take a look in my gallery. You'll see one that's just slightly different than this one.

VERY nice, Paul...and you're demoing of the "three" chords! :D

Curious question - did you special order yours with the abalone, or are there different variations to the 1773LX?

There's only the one guitar. I special ordered mine with the abalone, a gloss neck, additional side fret markers, and an XLR output. It's a really wonderful guitar in looks, acoustically, and when plugged in.

Before I got it, I had originally, a 1763 (deep body cutaway classical) and then a 1674 (country artist cutaway). The 1773LX has the best of both... a narrower neck, but with a body deep enough for a really good acoustic sound. Of course, the LX neck and bracing help a lot as well.

Petri, The 1773LX cleared Finish Customs this afternoon!

It only took 3 days from our local post office to get to Finland (USA to Finland via EMS) and another day to clear Customs.

It appears that if I would have brought it to a post office in Los Angeles, California, it would have been in Finland a day earlier.

You forget. It would have taken two and a half days to drive to L.A. and back in all this traffic

Sounds like a nice smooth deal that PetriN will be happy with.

Amazing how sometime items can be delivered to other countries quicker than we can get them delivered 10 states over.

I got the 1773LX today from customs .. and first I want to thank noah for extremely informative and kind emails before the deal! Second, I need to mention ultra careful (but necessary) packing - I sweated for about five minutes to get the thing out :-) Third, it plays fine and really was a nice smooth deal for me!

I was a bit surprised to learn that still after the trip it made it was in tune?! Extremely solid instrument .. I need to plug it in tomorrow (it's kinda late here now) and hear how it sounds through my vacuum tube amps ..
