Joined: January 2005 Posts: 4903 Location: Phoenix AZ | FOR SALE: 1982 COLLECTORS SERIES GUITAR Up for sale is my 1982 Collectors. This was the very first year of the annual collectors series, so it has some historical significance. I bought this guitar several months ago for $175. and it meets my every expectation. Very nice sound, great action, beautiful appointments. And the Blueburst top fits in perfectly with any Adamas collection. The problem is that 1) I never, ever play it, and 2) it's very redundant to other guitars that I own and 3) I really need some room. So here's the deal: $195. delivered to your door in the USA Why so cheap: OK, nothing fundamentally wrong with the guitar. It's been played and knocked around a little. Nicks, small dings, 2 lacquer cracks and an area on the lower bout where the lacquer flaked off and took some of the blue finish with it. Looks like it was touched up with matching blue nail polish (not mine). It's really not bad at all and I'm probably being too critical. When I got it, I installed brand NEW Ovation chrome tuners and a FD14 truss rod cover. The guitar is acoustic ONLY. The 2-knob electronics were dead, so I removed everything from the inside and nicely plugged the holes. The guitar weighs significantly less now. So that's it. It's not "beat up" or anything like that. Just used for what it was designed for and has some road scars. Plays and sounds every bit as well as it did 25 years ago. Deep bowl, bound neck, abalone rosette, blah, blah, blah. Case is the red fur lined Ovation Archcraft case, which on it's own is kind of a collectors item. If you are looking for a fantasic front porch guitar, this is the deal for you. More photos, specs, etc. at the following link. 1982 COLLECTORS SERIES GUITAR Dave

This one took 45 minutes which means I probably got screwed. Oh well, guitar is on it's way to Bob. Thanks to the others who inquired. Dave

I suppose if I was going to get a #47 I'd have to sell the 99 Collector's so I wouldn't exceed my quota of "red ones."
