Now here you go alerting the membership to a very nice tenor ukulele on ebay. What's going on. Did someone steal your login ID or something? Please up your meds until one of you goes away. As far as this uke on ebay, it's been quite some time since I retired from the force (price police force), but I do know that I bought mine brand spanking new from a well known reputable dealer wearing mauve for way, way less than that ebay price. Location: Phoenix AZ | It's a spruce top finished in a "mahogany" color. I've owned this exact same uke. In fact Master Templeman how has it.
There are many actual mahogany ukuleles and in general they sound very nice. Spruce and Koa are also very common. I've even seen some cedar and some walnut ones. Just like guitars, all kinds of flavors.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Random Thought-- At Apple Music's acoustic section, the dude was showing someone a $1400 Uke (Koa). He also had some for MUCH less, $100+/-. But he noted that they were cheaply made. I'm not experienced in Uke's but even I could definitely tell the difference. (and I got 80.2% on the Tone Deaf Test)

Street price with case is probably around 350-375 or there about.... Still a lot of money for an Applause. Am I missing something?? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Arthur, there are certainly differences between a $1400. and a $100. uke. Just like with guitars. I bet most of us could tell a $100. guitar from a $1400. guitar
As you said you get what you pay for. In the $300. range you start to see some pretty nice stuff. RUMC sells a line of Vineyard ukes that are great values. Bushman, Kala and Lanikai are also among my favorites for the money. If you've got the money, Blackbear and Kamaka are the beez-kneez as far as my own instruments go.
