Location: Newport News Virginia | I picked up this early 70s Pacemaker 12 String in 1980 (1615-4 serial 010563). I played it alot for about five years. I sent it to Hartford around 1983 for fret work and they reworked/replaced several frets, the pre amp and the undersaddle transducer. Most of the time now it sits in my closet waiting to be played. I am moving to Ethiopia at the end of December and have decided to depart with this gem instead of putting in storage. I am asking $400.00 to include shipping in its Ovation brown/tan hard case (VGC). The pre-amp and transducer still work. There are a few small dings in the spruce top typical of a guitar of this age. Could probably use having the action adjusted. I have pictures, but I do not know how to upload them into this BB. Let me know if you are interested. Scott |

In my original posting, I forgot to mention that a piece of the inlay where the headstock attaches to the neck bulges out. One of the photographs shows this, I beleive, clearly. Sorry about the omission. Scott |

Location: Newport News Virginia | I am not sure what caused the bulge. As I indicated in the orginal posting, it has not been played regularly. It has been stored indoors in a closet. Our house has hot water radiators and the house can get quite dry in the winter. In the summer the humidity can be as high as 90% percent outside and we avoid using the ac for as long as we can. My best guess is that this bulge is the result of not keeping the humidty of the guitar constant. It is only a guess. I know I discovered it about five years ago and it sickened me to see it. It does not seem to get in the way when playing.
Anyone else have an idea as to what might cause the inlay to bulge? I would be interested to know.
