I always try to figure out vanity plates. It's usually just husband/wife initials but if there's a message, I try to unravel it. Yesterday I saw:

G C D7

I embarrassed to report that it took me more than a few seconds to get it.

That's a good one. I had Adamas in CT and then NC years ago. Somebody sent me OVATION from California from many many years ago. Now it's more fun to be invisable, in a white Suburban with a nothing plate. There's only about a million of them. The M-B has TRICONE but it's hard to hide in a Benz.

beal, i used to drive past the marion plant quite frequently from the early to mid 80's. that was long before i knew anything about ovations. i always desired to stop in there one day, but alas, my work schedule as a food broker kept me too busy. wished i'daknown then what i'm still learnin' now.

i noticed "black mountain" is where your new NC home is. ahhhh...you are blessed. except for goin' down that mountain on 40 East in winter conditions!
were you living in marion when you were operating the plant there?

We lived in Morganton, and I don't plan on being here in BMT when the white spoo flies.

I was surprised when "Cayman" was still available for my wife's Cayman, so I got it. She wanted "4MYWIFE". How lame is that? Glad Cayman was available.

The plate I've had since '83 is IMMOODY. My wife, who's a nurse, has the plate MOODYRN. Probably not very original, but people tend to give us a lot of space....

I always wanted a Porsche with a license plate that read:

3M TA3

I never got a Porsche though.

(Look at it coming up on you in your rear view mirror)
