Joined: January 2007 Posts: 3 | Hi Folks...I've enjoyed reading the posts around here the past few days. Anyways, to make a long story short my interests have turned towards fingerpicking and I've always been attracted to Ovations. That being said, I really have no clue as to what is a "good" buy and one that is not. There is an 1988 Legend being sold around here for $250 as well as a newer (still used) 1861 for $450. Do any of these sound like a complete rip off? Both of them are in very good shape and sound great. Anyways, thanks for your help!

But if a US Legend is in good shape, it's worth $250. Unless he wants to wait. My guitars are getting cheaper (less expensive). But it is kinda like looking for a job, or an Ol' Lady... They are alot easier to find when you already have one!

Joined: August 2006 Posts: 2804 Location: ranson, wva | that pic was taken right after i bought it. when i bought it the preamp was hanging inside tore up. it only had 2 machines on it,frets were worn. i put a new preamp in it,new schaller gold machines, new pup,new nut and dressed the frets and filled 2 cracks in the top. best sounding ssb ive played.in fact its the only 1567 ive ever seen. i paid $100 for it in peices, put $275.00 in parts and about 30hrs of work....i got a good price for that one....jason
