Location: Phoenix AZ | Goober, I've owned two sunbursts. You gotta hear them. The sunburst sound better than the natural or black ones. It has to do with the variable attenuation of the top caused by the taper of the black paint in the burst. Dave |

What did you just say, anyway?

Location: Phoenix AZ | Goob, I AM DEAD FREAKING SERIOUS. Others have come to same conclusion that the sunburst ones just sound BETTER. I don't know why.
Yes, my explanation is total BS. But the fact remains that the sunbursts do sound superior.

Location: Up North | I don't know about the sunburst claim Dave. Word on the street is that StevenT28's/gh1's/Grif's black 1537 is the best sounding one there is in existence!
Wow, people must be starting to move their collections to raise funds for the OFC guitar! |

The thing abuot the black ones is it's hit an miss. You never really know what is udner the black paint. Could be cedar? Could be unidirectional graphite? You never know what they found in the bin that day.

As amazingly awesome as my former black 1537 sounded, the Tobacco sunburst one I had sounded even better (tho by a small small margin).
and the 1547 that GH1 pried from my hands sounded better than both of them. |

Location: Tennessee | Y'all must've played duds. My natural 1537 can kick your stupid sunburst's butt. Then again, you've probably got "My 1537 is on the Honor Roll" stickers on the back of your cars; I have to pick mine up from detention because it keeps making yours cry. |
