I've been lusting after a Contour bowl for some time now...

I'd like to trade a Book Elite (1996 1768-7 LTD)for an 05, 06 Collector or one of the LX models with the Deep Contour...

My "Book" guitar isn't original. I bought this used a couple of years ago and had the neck glossed at the "Mother Ship". They did a great job! The previous owner put Grover tuners on it.
Sooo, this isn't original. 8/9 out of 10

Most know this has the special "bling" like the 87 Collector (Abalone around the bowl and up the neck and head stock) Optima pre amp with on board tuner, 1/4 inch and XLR hook up.

Very few made. Like around 100... This guitar has no issues.

Let me know if your interested and we can swap pic's.

Woz,
You make me wish I had an extra Contour to trade.

Do you have a set $$ value in mind?

advice...

I am nearly at keeper's only. I might have to send some parts up for sale as well.

I like what Woz is doing. Trades can be a lot more interesting.

Reason I ask is that I would consider trading the '05 collectors but not sure I am interested in the Book Elite. Perhaps a 3 way... (trade that is  )

The 1112-1 which was my first Ovation, sounds sweet and has a punitive resale value - Stays.

The Custom Elite LX12 - Stays.

The 1778LX Elite with one dent ( ) on the top, and is THE most playable guitar I have ever had. - Stays until I find a better six.

Limited Deacon 12 Mutt - Stays

Faux Limited confused Six String - In Progress

What?
Make me talk about one one of guitars? Well, OK...

This started as a Breadwinner body from Ebay and was stripped and sent to the scroll saw for a little tummy trimming making it a Faux Limited.

I am not happy with the pups in this and I was talked into selling the Preacher project body and PG to Resonator. That leaves me with a set of Viper pups to mate to this body with the Preacher deluxe neck and gold trim. Just need time to assemble.

Woz,
Since I have so rudely hijacked this thread let me ask if you can see a solidbody in your future?

The gloss on this guitar neck made it very special. I know that in doing so I was changing the original and affecting the "collector" value.
As for looks... I think for the better.

The gloss and neck "re-set" and a few dings touched up on the top cleaned it up a great deal.

I'm OK with the Grover tuners... I was asked at "The Ship" why I changed them out... I didn't.

This guitar does have epp "wear" on the treble side. I did get some pic's up close. I believe the past owner tried to "file" down an edge of the epp. To me it shows that it was played a lot.

With all the bling on this guitar you have to look for this.

I'm a spaz at trying to load a pic on this site. I've failed often. I'm sure it has to do with size... At least that's what my wife says.

Yes, I did write that on purpose.

Woody, as for an offer I can't refuse $$$ something to cover a contour bowl guitar might be $900.00 +?

That sounds like a good ballpark estimate.

Lean on Fred - He's a pushover for helping someone out! Maybe a 3 month swap for scientific testing?

Thanks Woz. It's gorgeous!!

The grovers are arguably as good as the Schallers, except this guitar *needs* pearloid buttons. I actually think the "chamfered edge on the epauletes is a good Idea if your a crazy flat picker.

Shiny... Ooooooooh!

Maybe if I used a heat gun I could trade you a C1112-1?

Definitely needs perloid buttons. Looks almost identical to the '87.

Very purty, Woz.
