There aren't many out there to be had.

I'm interested in the A/B comparison, too.

I have a nylon Viper and a Godin nylon multiac. They Godin arguably sounds more like a "real" acoustic classical guitar but I prefer the tone and feel of the Viper. I use the Godin purely as a driver for my Roland GR33.

Is the viper in question one of the newer semi hollow body models?

I have an older Viper III that came with black nylon wound steel strings, I assume that the previous owner just replaced the usual steel strings, as I haven't seen anymore info about ovation solid bodies with the nylon. I can't even find where to find nylong strings to replace it, because I really loved the warm sounds you could blend with the three pickups.

By the way...does anybody know how many of the Viper III models came out of the factory?

I will tell you, my main guitar is my Godin Multiac Nylon , I love it, and the company is very supportive of my music and all of that good stuff that happens between a guitar company and a recording artist.

And I love Ovations and wished there was a model that I can play all the time as my main guitar and I have asked the company to let me try some of the new models to see if I like one to play on stage, but the schmucks don't care, since I am not a big star and my music is not on mass media, they have ignored me for years and I am tired of asking; kind of sad but that is the truth and the reality.

Anyway, so after playing the few old nylon string models that I am able to test drive and none of them have worked for me, I have decided to see if the Viper nylon will do. But I have to try one first

So in essence, this is a guitar I don't really need but if it works for me, I would love to play it and use it all the time.

Serge, that is a sad story ... but it confirms what is already believed by many about the company. I'm sorry to hear it.

viz., that Ovation management doesn't seem to be interested in pursuing extensive artist relations and endorsements. The popularity of Taylor guitars can not be explained by arguing the superior quality and price value of their instruments, for example.

This general topic comes up on the discussion side in various forms on a routine basis, usually started by someone knew asking why so few Ovations are seen in music videos or used on tours by top artists.
