Not undercut, just a less complicated deal and less out of pocket at my end.

On limited funds you have limited options. Another member offered their guitar, one with some character applied, that I can afford and sell to SWMBO. I'm satisfied.

Stephen will sell his in due time, in fact another member has already spoken up as I understand it.

No need for wolves here.

Peace

Brad

Everyone values there guitars differently and some feel that the value is justified.

Others may feel differently about the value of the gear.

Whether or not it is ethical to step into another thread and offer up the same model guitar for less versus posting it separately in it's own "For Sale" post is subject to interpretation.

Either way, doesn't really matter to me.

Keeping the FD14 is certainly not a problem and were I in the same financial situation as Brad (limited GAS funds), I would have probably jumped on the deal (just as he did).

I hope it works out well for Brad. We have done business in the past and I am sure we will do so again in the future.

Regardless, another new player gets to experience the thrill of an FD14 and it stays in the OFC family.

Hmmmmmmm.....someone PM's a potential buyer and offers the same model guitar for less.

Not sure what I would call that if not "undercutting".

Brad, don't worry.....were cool. As I said before, I would have probably jumped on that deal also.
I am glad you are getting an FD14 at a price more agreeable to your budget. You will love it.

As written earlier by myself:

I'd love to 'step up', but there is no way I can swing both. I've looked at this everyway I can, fished for someone to pick up the CL, and I'm just not going to be able to do it.

I clearly passed on the guitar Stephen was offering. It was after this post that someone else stepped forward with an alternative.

We are splitting hairs on the choice of words regarding undercutting. I guess it is in the perception.

No harm, no foul. Stephen, I sincerely appreciate you trying to work this out for all parities concerned. Maybe next time, and I'm sure there will be a next time, we'll have more success.

Time to wrap up this discussion.

Brad

Sorry for the short reply. I started to reply to your message and then got called away. Apparently in my haste I hit the return key with just the one word reply.

The FD14 has found a new home with an OFC brother to the north.....funny how many of my really nice guitars have made their way into Canada.

Thanks for the interest and again...I am sorry for the short reply.

What type of Taylor did you grab?

stephent, No need to be sorry, i always enjoy your post even when you mean to be short.People with thin skin don't usually last long around here. The taylor is a 710CE i bought a while back because it had a 17/8 nut and cedar top . Its got a fair amount of dings but the best sound of any Taylor i've played and the neck is just great. I thought it was sold to a friend whos had it about two months but looks like the moneys not gonna work out. Its ok hes a good guy just bad timing. I'm not the biggest Taylor fan but this is a good one, but you know my trouble with dreds so it will most likely have to go. I've always wanted to try a FD14 just to see what all the fuss is about.

The fuss is quite justified. I played one at Elderly new in 2003, and it is one of the finest git-fiddles I've ever played.

Thx MWoody and jpcannon. This video is not the best i can do, but it is done with love of Chet/Marcel music syle and Ovation/Adamas guitars that i play for more than 20 years now ... It was the way i found to thank Stephen for the good deal i had with him when i bought his nice red 1881 one year ago ;) ;)
