Both listed today. BIN on the 1547 is $500, but I don't get why it would have an OP24.

The 1547 would be mine. As for the OP-24 system; Thats what the listing read when I bought it and the controls look just like the ones on my 1868 that I have confirmed are op-24. Thats all I know really.

The Book Elite looks to be lightly used, well cared for, and in excellent condition. Most bling for the buck available on an Ovation.

The 1547s are so rare, maybe they didn't put the 2 knobbers in all of them.

My guess would be that this 1547 was either built towards the very end of the 1537/47 production and got the OP 24, or that somebody retro fitted it.

It's still there, Jim...got about 4 days left.

Who said that...????

Yeah, I'm back - Ovation fans are like GAS...it goes away for a while, but always winds up bothering you again...

By the way, thanks to Al for graciously inviting me back. It feels good to be in with the other junkies once again.

On the main topic, who are the other guys who have 1547's? I know there's at least a couple others here.

Andrew, welcome back! Gh1 has a black 1547, which is on the market if anyone is interested. You should come on down to the next OFC-NW gathering in Portland on July 14th!

Welcome back Andrew. I found it on the bay, not that I'm looking for another guitar or anything....
(I'm just going to keep repeating that and hope it works)

I want that Book Elite. It's number 2 on my wish list. But funds are limited. I'll see how high it goes and stay hopeful. ;)

I hear you there, Patch...a Book or nice '87 collectors on par with Bruce's is on my short list for sure, but there are just way too many guitars on the want list now and not enough dough to go around.

I have a Book Elite and an '87 Collectors both of which are available for sale. The '87 was just returned from the factory after getting it's top refinished and it is stunning. Many of you played it at the tour last month. The Book Elite has had a factory neck and headstock glossing. Even more beautiful than the '87 (if that's possible). Drop me a line if you are interested.

Photos are on my website.

Actually the 1537 is the one with the black finish. The 1547 has the -4 natural spruce top. And yes, they are both for sale.

Indeed Andrew, we'd love to have you come down to the Gathering on the 14th of July. Talk Mike into coming with you and carpool.

Cheers and welcome back!

Thanks, but I don't know if I can make it. The funny thing is I'll be in Vancouver all day on the 14th anyway working the farmer's market. I'm there pretty much every Saturday for the summer, but by the time we pack up it's late afternoon, and my brother and I have to take the truck back up to the bakery and offload any extra stuff and deal with it. He'd have to drive a separate car, and I'd have to take the van back later and deal with the stuff myself...come to think of it, I could possibly do that, it would just make life a bit tougher on me. What time/place is the get-together?
