Location: Tennessee | Congrats on the great guitar, Doug. Let us know when you get all the different sound possibilities figured out. Should only take a couple of years. ;) |

I've already been bitten by the bug and now own several. This is my second twelve. Am anxious to see the condition, but it sure looks great!
Here's my Ovation line up:
72 Bread Winner - Very low serial number - 453 I think. A bit beat up and not the original pick ups. The pick guard was routed out. Has the jack in the wood and not on the pick guard.
75 Deacon 6 - Great shape. Amazing action. Bought it for dirt on Evil Bay last fall. $400!
Deacon 12 (not sure on the year) - Stone mint!!! Didn't even have pick scratches on the guard. Obviously never played. Bought this one this spring on the Evil for around $1150. Saw some of the posts for the guitar on here.
Early 90s Celebrity Deluxe. cc268. This one's OK. Great looking flamed top.
Am working on two songs right now that feature both the six and twelve deacons, as well as my bass player's Magnum. Should have them done and posted on my MySpace page by next week.
Cheers! |

Location: Chicago | Well, it's a late one, but it's an update. The guitar is a beauty indeed. Such an amazing piece of mahogany for the body - sort of looks like it's still alive.

A bit of fret wear on the first three frets - nothing too bad. No buckle rash at all. There's a few finish scuffs at the headstock on the back of the neck, most likely this guitar must have sat on some guitar shop's wall for ages. Needs new battery clip thingys (I play them - not a tech).
Tech question here though: What's the best method of repair for the battery clips? |
