Joined: March 2006 Posts: 1634 Location: Chehalis, Washington | I got to play Paul Baloche's MG3.5 rosewood last November - suffice it to say that a custom McPherson is on my short list after that. Beautiful craftsmanship, cool design, and serious sustained tone. Way better than any Taylor or Martin I've ever played (sorry Tup...limited experience ;) ). That, and the unique wood combinations they offer as "stock" models, I think is just too cool to pass up. Of course, you could get a nice custom Adamas slothead for about two thirds of that... | ||

It seems like the sound should be half way between a round hole and archtop. I like the Collings better. My point to Randy was this. Take this guitar and a $5000 Collings and try to sell each 2 years from now. You'll probably get more if not all back from the Collings. The McPherson, you don't know. | ||

By now i`ve used them a fair amount and for myself i don`t see what all the fuss is about. They are well built, super nice case but i have a Breedlove OM travel guitar that sounds as good to me and i got it for what the taxes would be on a McPherson. | ||
