Hi,
I am new to Ovation and to this bullentin board but I have been watching for a couple of weeks and learning about these great guitars. My local dealer has a very limited selection of Ovations. Nothing nice at all.

I have decided on what I want - a folklore, steel string, like an 1114 or 1614. I'm interested in the wide nut width. Sunburst would be nice, but not necessary.
Does anyone have such a guitar they could offer? Or if not, could you help me in my search with what kind of price I would be looking at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

lars

It looks pretty nice. I wonder why they have the condition listed as fair?

Finish cracks on top of the bridge in a 'smile' pattern. Looks like another finish crack, maybe into the wood below the center of the bridge.

One of the cracks is into the wood, several surface cracks. Guitar plays and sounds good. I traded it in on a Breedlove. If your interested the owner of the stores name is Robbie, give him a call i think he will take less for it.

Thanks for this reference. How worried would any of you be about the crack in the wood?

Another thing, I have read on this board about a guy named Al who does a lot of dealings with ovations and people on this board. Would it be worth my while to call Al?

Thanks

Sure! Al is a very honest & reputable dealer. Don't know about his stock of wide-necks, though.
