I had a small outdoor cat that lived the last 10 years of its long life here. She spent a lot of time at the edge of the bluff; it seemed like she enjoyed the view. An eagle didn't get her, but one day I was at the side of the house and saw the cat running like crazy across the yard. Immediately following was an eagle making a steep ascent. I think that the eagle had tried to grab the cat but missed.

I've heard that wildlife biologists find small pet collars in eagle's nests.

I live a few miles south of Deception pass where you took the picture with an eagle in a tree. There are more eagles over Miles' way, around the Skagit River. So many that they have an eagle festival.

We've had a couple of visits from a 2 metre python. These have been known to eat small dogs. We own a small dog.
