Location: North Carolina | I had been using a GR-33 to play bass with the guitar, however for many practical reasons I decided to stop doing that. Which means now I need solid lows from the guitar. Easy enough, but when I engage the chorus effect, the punch goes out of the lows. Now what?
I could keep the chorus on at all times and just EQ for it, but I just want it part of the time. I could put a graphic EQ in the chain and boost the low when I hit the chorus. Nah, too complicated.
What I elected to do was split the guitar signal. One channel remains unprocessed and contains the clean bass punch. The second line, going to a separate channel gets processed, but the bass is cranked way back. When in engage the chorus I get exactly what I want, clean punchy bass and chorus on the high end. One added benefit was the effect on the delay. I don't want the bass thumping back at me in the reflected notes. Now it's gone.
Thought I'd pass that on in case someone else is struggling with this. If anyone has a more elegant solution, I am, as Ross Perot said, all ears. |
