This guitar is in mint condition! It was my husband's baby for many years. He received it as a gift in 1978 and he was the only owner since. I have several pictures that I am only too happy to send to potential buyers. MSRP is @2,699.00. Sold elsewhere for $1,899.99. I am asking $1,500.00 for this rare beauty! Email any questions to me for a prompt response. Thank you in advance for your time! :D

List price for this guitar in 1978 was $765. I think you may be confusing it with the 40th anniversary reissues that came out last year in limited numbers. None the less, it's a nice guitar. Good luck with the sale. Dave

I have no idea what this guitar sold for in 1978 but nonetheless it is worth more than $2,500.00 and I am only asking $1,500.00.

Good luck with the sale. Who told you it was worth $2500 and that you should sell it for $1500? It's a good guitar but they sell on ebay for $450-$750. A private buyer might pay a little more.

Hey relax Diane. I'm not making any judgements about the value of your guitar. I was just pointing out that your claim of the MSRP being $2699. is in fact not true, and extremely misleading.

As I stated before, these are nice guitars. I have owned 4 of this exact same model myself. Good luck with the sale and welcome to the Ovation Fan Club.

No offense taken. The MSRP that I stated is one that I found on an identical guitar in my area. I'm sorry if it is misleading, I didn't mean anything of the sort. Just trying to get a fair price for a cherished heirloom guitar. Thanks for the advice.

Diane, there was another one for sale here a while ago that was in pristine shape, and I think it was up for about 1K. He had a hard time selling it (I believe it was slotheadfan) if it sold at all. If you are not hard pressed to sell it, you might be better off holding on to it for a while. Since Fender bought Ovation, it might be worth more in the future. That guitar is worth a lot to the right person, but you will just have to find him or her. Beautiful guitar anyway, and by the way, Welcome to the forum. Best of luck with the sale!

I want to apologize to everyone. I was invited to join this club to try to sell my husbands guitar for back house payments. I sincerely did think it was worth what I was asking for it. I need to get at least $1,500.00 for said payments. I want to withdraw this sale because I just can't part with it for less than the price I need. Again I am very sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused.
Thank you, Diane.

Many of us have guitars that are more valuable to us than they are valued on the market. Hope you can come up with some other way to make the house payments. Guitars generally depreciate and it is a buyer's market for most of them.
