...so the car is 24 years old and I've had it for longer than than (OK, I HAVE had it for almost 20 years - great performance and aging well like all of us, so it's been hard to part with).
...and the guitar was for Christmas and birthdays for the last two years, etc. etc. (was it worth the wait, or what??).
OK, OK, today was a VERY GOOD DAY.
Guess I better start to thin the heard in advance of the next coming.

"for the last two years"! Luckier still. My OFC was for the next couple years. The last two were a little over the top, though. Probably 15 or so. I don't have your patience. Enjoy your new and old toys and don't be talking about herd thinning.

The Carvin arrived today, Nice Player, some scratches and dings, but with clear-coat on figured maple they're hard to see.. and nothing major.... gonna take it over to the shop and put it on the buffing wheels and see if we can smooth a few out. Plays really well, and all switches and components work properly. and it does sound good and quite a varied palette of sonic color.

somebody used a crappy stand for a few years tho... and the back of the neck where it hit the yoke is a little rough. but nothing that can't be smoothed back out.

Thanks Jim,

Glenn

You're welcome Glenn. Hope you enjoy her a lot. Send me a picture after she's buffed out. I didn't know you could do that to a guitar.

Hi Jim, Thanks again, this is really a great electric. the solid figured maple body, maple neck, and nice ebony fretboard are gorgeous..

and this thing has tone!!!! I confirmed it's a 79, and actually the first year Carvin started using their own necks, and first year for the set-neck.

the ser# is actually on the jackplate.. the #s on the neck are some other id.

Miles is right... the m22 pickups are really nice.

Thanks Again,

Glenn
