Before I post it for sale, I want to make sure I have the description right, and I'm having a tough time identifying the top wood. Can you guys help? It's probably very simple for someone who knows O's inside and out, but in looking at it, it's not a wood that's very apparent to me. Maybe it's the stain that's throwing me off. It has the depth and shimmer of Mahogany, the wavy grain of Walnut, some knotting features like Maple, etc. Any ideas? ![]() ![]()

If you look at the second picture Robby posted - the close-up of the bridge - you can see somewhat open and large (wide) grain patterns reminiscent of mahogany or sapele. Maple of all varieties has much tighter grain, not at all like what this looks. Could it be nutmeg birdseye maple??? J :) Bubinga: ![]() Bird's-eye Maple ![]()

That's why I thought Robby might have one of those. His pictures are more orange than my guitar is, but it just might be the photograph. There are some maple laminate Collectors that are similar, but not the birdseye maple. The only one of those I've seen was on the 90 Collector and it has a very tight pattern with little knots in it that look like eyes. Hence the name, I suppose.

You caused me to dig-out my CC255! I don't know what the difference between a CC255 and a CS255 is... 'cept maybe yours is prettier... And I think they both have Plywood tops... Just some plywood looks nicer than others.
