Had an old Celebrity that was stolen recently. I replaced it with a 2778AX (used). Seems the action is a bit high for my liking so I removed 1 of the 3 shims under the saddle. Helped, but still too high. Removed another shim and it's where I want it but,now I'm experiencing string
buzz. Would like to adjust the truss rod just a little but cannot find a wrench that fits. The manual lists an adjustment wrench (#950059-X) but who knows where to get one? Love the ovation sound and feel but expected better customer service from them. Any words of wisdom?

It's just a 3/16" hex (allen) wrench. Make small changes (1/4 turn) at a time and let it sit for a day to adjust before turning it any more.

I don't know how much customer service you expect for a second-hand asian guitar, but the Ovation customer service people are excellent.
Did you even contact them?

I did contact their customer service. They told me to use a 4.8mm or 5mm allen wrench. Not even close! The truss rod requires some sort of socket, not an allen or hex wrench. Second-hand an Asian or not, they build it and sell it, they should certainly be able to tell the consumer where to get a wrench for it.

A socket? Where are you seeing this? Inside the soundhole or under the truss rod cover?

Inside the body (after removing the access panel) on the back of the body. Where the neck meets the body, there's a wooden block brace with a hole in it. On the far end of that brace is the truss nut (or whatever it's called). Pretty well versed in shop work, tools, etc., and I'm pretty sure this requires a socket (instead of an allen/hex head wrench). Sockets I have. What I don't have is a socket that will fit through the hole in the wooden brace/block, and over the nut. I really do appreciate your attempts at helping me out here but, please don't feel obligated. Thanks much.

Did you look under the truss rod cover on the headstock?

I didn't see a truss rod cover in pictures of the 2778AX I looked at on the Ovation website. The LXs had one, but maybe the AXs don't.

AX's don't have TRC's...
They are adjusted from the inside end of the neck.
Should be a 3/16" Allen (hex) Wrench like others have said.
Since I have never handled a Korean AX, there is a possibility that I could be wrong.
But I doubt it.
AX's are just renamed Ultras, and all three of my "second-generation" Ultras took a 3/16.
(two 2171's and a 2178)

As to the OP's question... and Official Ovation Truss Rod Wrench is an Allen Wrench.

Meanwhile, there are two listed on eBay... Here and Here... one for center hole, a long one for Elite style.

Sorry, I didn't know the AX's didn't have TRCs... Every LX I've owned had one.
My mistake, but yet another reason to buy American.

New here and have an 2778Ax. I followed Adam Turbiners video on the ovation site to make the adjustment. It is with an allen wrench that came with the guitar. Unless you have skinny arms get the long wrench as you'll never get your arm inside that access hole in the back. Was very easy to adjust it.

Several of y'all have been correct by saying it's a 3/16th allen wrench. No room in there to wiggle and turns out it has to be inserted just right or it won't cut it. My bad. Thanks for taking time to address. As for the lad (I'll assume he's a lad) that goes by Waskel, I reckon if I made a better livin' I could afford an American made axe. Sorry dude, but I've had to make it on my own from a very early age.

You didn't post how much you paid for the AX, so I don't know if you could have afforded a US made.
And yes, I'm a lad (who's been making it on his own for many, many years).

For a newbie who wanted an answer and GOT it (from Waskel I might add), you're kind of a prick.
