Hey all, I was finally able to meet a fellow OFC member when I went to See PEZ play at a local Open Mike last night. I loved his "Luthier song" about guitars/builders. It was a nice evening and I'm hoping to play in 3 weeks with my buddy Chris and our "singer" Jill. Hope to meet more of you in the future!!!

Well done BT717. I too have just met my first OFC member. Caught up with Muzza last Saturday and had a great time. It's a bit harder down here as I think there's only 5 or 6 Aussie OFC members. Hopefully there'll be a time soon when the entire Aussie membership will be able to get together.

i'm stuck out here in the middle of the ocean with no other OFC'ers to hang with. there are ovation and adamas guitar players in abundance though. i need to do some recruiting, i guess...

We are planning another Hawaii trip in 2 years (says my daughter and son-in-law, Lord willing) so let's find at least a few minutes to have a cup of Kona and share OFC lies. You will definately need to bring a guitar though, as my last trip to the Islands (last year), I went looking for a rental guitar to get a fix, and couldn't find one. First thing I did when I got home was run down stairs and pick up each guitar and played it.

I really feel for you, Randy. (I should post this in the Sarcastics group, so that you could read it with all the dripping sarcasm I intended.)
SWMBO would love to come along for an OFC Gathering in Hawaii, although she hasn't expressed any interest in attending the others. Next year is Germany, though, so Hawaii is at least a couple years off.

A bit of advice to the Aussies. Put straps on your guitars before AJ has too many drinks. He gets pretty animated after a few. Since he'll have his impressive collection there, he probably can just dance with his own.

The only time the strap comes off my Adamas is when it goes in the case, so I'm fairly safe as long as I get the case on before AJ gets to it. I think AJ has more Ovations than the rest of the Aussie members put together.

AJ's pretty amazing at grooving with the guitar and no strap. All those people who make that bogus claim about Ovations slipping off your leg should see the video of him.
There was video taken of our event, but I think it is being screened by the FBI or Homeland Security or something like that.

When it happens, I'm sure the Aussie OFC gathering will be a very animated affair.

When AJ and his wife were here, they talked funny. Wonder what happened. Maybe it's like the toilet flushing backwards.

Reminds me of a guy I know who's originally from Brooklyn. When he's chatting up some girl, he lays that Bronx snarl on pretty thick, but when I talk to him, barely a trace. Hmmm...

I went in to the tourist information centre in LaFayette La. (well below the banjo line) about 25 years ago to ask for directions. In response to my question, the man behind the counter said "Aruh nyah beglomph grohp?" (or something similar).

There was a TV in the corner and I could understand every word coming out. I presume the staff members could also understand it (else why have it on?) so how come I couldn't understand a word they said and vice versa?
