OK....this one was sold, but the buyer prefers a wider neck. So she's for sale again, and I need to move her VERY fast! She's absolutely spotless, the only minor flaw is what may be a hairline crack in the truss rod cover of all things! It's been there for years, and you have to get your nose right up to it to see it. I have a spare from Kim Keller, just in case and will put it in the case. The first picture does the best job of showing the beautiful creamy color of the spruce. The others look a little darker because of the macro setting on the camera that I use for close-ups. This instrument sounds great unplugged and is unmatched plugged in! Here are the obligatory specs from Ovation: 6 String Nylon Acoustic / Electric, Mid-depth Cutaway, Solid Spruce top, Scalloped LX bracing, 25 1/4" Scale Length, Deluxe Grade Ebony fret board, Ebony Bridge, Inlaid Tortoise rosette, 1 3/4" Nutwidth,
and tuners are Gold w/ Black Buttons. Admittedly, a brand new one might look as clean as this one, but no others will. It comes with an aftermarket roadrunner hard-shell case that fits it perfectly. Because of the different case, and because I'm really being crunched to sell this quickly, I'm dropping the price to $999 shipped in the CONUS. If you're jonesing for a nylon sound, chances don't get much better than this one. It's the perfect way to dispose of that ESP check you just got from the IRS! Someone call or PM me quickly! I'm serious, this needs to move NOW!

Patch,

If I didn't already have a 1624 I would be looking.

Great guitar.

Beautiful. I'll show my ignorance here, but I've never noticed that way of attaching the strings to the bridge before. I guess that's what you would need to do if the strings didn't have the little balls at the end. Or is this the secret to the sound that I've been missing?

There are several brands that have the 'beads' on the end.

It is the classic way to terminate the strings. More of a tradition than a requirement.

It's how REAL guitar-players attach strings . . .

I just followed Iffy's link. I can't believe it, my basses have sloppy ties!

How will I ever live this down?

You realize Iffy, that I have to kill you now. :p

It'll be OK Iffy, I think I settled him down a bit. He might just break your knees instead.
