22 pounds. The box would be around 52" x 22" x 12".
That's what I put in the online shipping calculator, and it is always close...
But lately the online shipping calculator has been on the cheap side because of Fuel Surcharges.
Wednesday, the Calculator told me $18 to send it across the state line.
$22 was the real price.

| UPS always used to tell me that the Acoustic guitar boxes were oversize. and $30 was the minimum for this. As long as the weight was not over 40 lbs, or something like that, this was what I used to pay most times. Then you add whatever insurance to the deal and go from there. It all depends on who is doing the paperwork and reading the rules. |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | 108"- max. size, before extra oversize charges, counting length, plus distance around the box (twice-width, plus twice-depth). So, OMA's example is WAY oversize, at 120". But, then again, it allows more padding & protection. OK, "nothing's free", and ya pays yer money, and takes yer chance.
For a $1500 critter, definitely worth the extra cost. For us BFLG parts-meisters, maybe not. |

I also use Fed Ex.
I have also just handed the the case, they slap a sticker on it and tag the handle.
And it went that way, too.
Hey, it's good enough for Tom Hanks?
But they did destroy my WELL PACKED 1121, (and denied my insurance claim) so shipper beware... |

Location: South of most, North of few | I almost exclusively use Fedex, and most guitar boxes are 47x20x9 +or-. 20-23lbs total. They will go USPS also at that measurement, priority mail. |

Location: Scotland | When shipping FROM the UK couriers calculate volumetric weight (I.E the amount of cargo space occupied by the package) and compare to the actual weight. They then charge at whichever is the highest. To get a volumetric weight you multiply H X W X D (in Centimetres) and divide by 6000. So if you're ever shipping a guitar out of the UK, it'll be charged at the volumetric weight, which is a LOT more than 9.5kilos. US international shipping charges are way cheaper than ours. |
