This seems like a good deal.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140254385...

I might just buy it.

Used guitar, seller you don't know, condition is a crapshoot, don't know if it'll be packed correctly for shipment 3/4 of the way around the world?

For another US$100 base price above the BIN, never mind shipping from Hawaii to UK would be WAY more than shipping from New Jersey (or Connecticut direct from the factory) to the UK, I'd buy one of the NEVER PLAYED FRGs Al was offering. Five year warranty, known seller (Ovation dealer), even being an FRG it would be in better condition than a used guitar.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather deal with (and give my business to) a founding member of this board.

Fair points but might win it at just $700, £200 less than the FRG and this isn't an FRG of course.

Finding out about shipping (which is likely to kill the deal dead).

I have bought many Ovations second hand and they've all been great....

Life is a gamble.

dweezil: shipping will be about 110-130$, depending on item weight, via USPS.
best regards

For another hundred bucks you get a new one with a 5 year warranty and I bet Al will get you a better deal on shipping than the guy in Hawaii would. I wouldn't take the gamble over $100 and I bet it would be less than that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Even if it costs a little more, I'd deal with Al. You know who you're dealing with and he has a proven record of working with people to make certain that each transaction goes right. He's the "known" vs. the unknown variable of dealing with somebody else.

It's stupid to not to buy from Al.....

Y'know, an FRG has a 5-year warranty?

Also, I don't trust anyone who sez that they only played it Three Times!
(Then why did you buy it?)

[Ignore the 'Jazzmanmusic' crap... He ain't a store, I got 109 feedback!

well lets see if I get it for $700 (my max bid) - if it's a dog I'll sell it on...

I reckon it's worth a punt at that price.

Also why distrust the guy? He has 107 positive feedback...

Yes sir, another bargain methinks, snaffled it for $700. It's in MINT condition, shippings not too bad at £65 either!

OK tax etc bumps it up a little more but I would have to pay that for a FRG or any other guitar.

The bottom line is a mint non frg 07C for around £470 in total sounds good to me. :)
