I recently bought an Ovation GP - just because I had never seen one and the price was very fair. I am ready to sell the item as I am not an electric player but have no real idea what a fair price is on this guitar. I had made a post to some site (I don't even recall where it was at this point) and had an almost immediate offer of $1250 from an individual - but he is in financial limbo at this point and I have waited several months for him to recover. At this point I'd like to make the sale and move on.

Obviously, I am new to this forum, but
have been an Ovation owner/player for over 35 years

There was one recently on Seattle Craigslist for $500- a ridiculously low price. One just sold on eBay for $2275. Another got no bids at $2500 - do an eBay completed items search for details.

I'll be happy to buy it for $500. ;)

Let me figure out how to put some photos on here and I'll also look at the eBay section suggested. And . . . I think I'll have to pass on the $500 offer

Welcome Tom, Hang around and get to know everyone here.

If I was in a selling mood and wanted to maximize my profits, I would hold on to my GP for a few months hoping that wallets loosen up enough to support G.A.S. or throw it up on eBay or Craigslist and state Best-Offer.

Otherwise, it appears that you already know a fair asking price.

Of all the Ovations you could pick that's the one with the widest price span.

AJ you could spill your shiraz on that one and not even notice. The great white shark is circling its prey.

Lot more response than I would have ever expected - looks like signing up here was a good move.

It is good to find other Ovation fans out there. When I saw Glen Campbell playing back in the late 60's - I knew I wanted one and have had (at least) one roundback ever since.

I would be interested in taking serious offers on the GP - thanks to Tim for posting photos on my behalf. I will be leaving tomorrow and on the road for a few days but will respond when possible.

Thanks guys -

Tom

Say AJ, why don't you just rent a container for your guitar purchases and when it is filled up (about six months?), have it shipped down under? It would save you a bunch on shipping guitars individually.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply - I am on the road a lot lately. I have two offers on the table for $1250 and am wondering if there is anyone out there who would have an Adamas they would be interested in in trading for the GP. I would be open to discussing this option.
