I'm about to buy my first Ovation while my bro sojourns in the US. Here in Hungary they're expensive like hell...
I found a Ultra 1527 at low price, what you know about that series? Or in contrast to a CC026, which 1 would you prefer, why?
Thanks a lot,
Patrik

For what it worth, I own a Ultra 1517 and I like it so much. Very nice guitar.
If you are able to compare them side-by-side it will be much more easy to decide:). If not, I will go for the Ultra.
I think they are comparable guitars sharing same feature and finish. Both with laminated top, rosewood fretboard .... etc, but the Ultra would have a deep bowl vs mid-depth of the celeb 026, which produce a deeper sound. Also the bracing should be the same ; K5 or modified A.
Hope this help.

A 1996 1517 was my first O. Nice guitar, but I moved it as soon as I played my first American-made.

Thanks, this Ultra looks better anyways :)
But i wondered, are the Ovation bowls really model-specific? I mean I thought shallow/mid/deep bowls were optional, like finishes vary stimes.
Acc. to you it seems impossible to find a mid-depth/shallow-bowled Ultra, is it right?

(I prefer mid-depth yet, considering the deeper one rather less mobile [handlingeasier] than better-sounding...as for shallow, oppositely: it's rather worse-sounding than even more mobile...but rather based on logic than experience is this theory of mine... :)

...Comunque bel sito da leggere, marenostrum :)

Grazie per i complimenti Patrik :) .
I think Ultra models are only available in the configuration deep bowl (including the most recent ones ... 2071). Have you visited Jerome website (www.ovationtribute.com)?
If not, it worth more then a visit .....

Why, US-made ovations are so much better? Or simply your patriot-soul greeded for one?:)
Btw. is This model-specific? mean the location of manufacturing...

Hmmm and besides i'm curious it might be an intrstin topic too:
Which Ovation-models do you admire the most?

Concerning me I like everything that's sthing original, unique, genuine...
That's why the tune-receptacle instrument grabbed me when i 1st met it in my ex-teachers hands.
The Adamas at first i considered an exaggeration, but, though i still don't completely understand it's conception, it's beauty found it's way into my heart. This lil' wonder managed:
http://www.ovationtribute.com/Adamas_Models/Adamas_Custom_Order/Ada...

1 like this with a brown bowl would be my dream-guitar. But rarely do miracles befall in our times...

So I'd separate Adamases and standard sound-holed guitars: Which Ovations do you like the most?

(if sum1 would fain tellin me the mystery of Adamases, I'll be grateful)

Yes, no, used to be.

No mystery. Just superior guitars.

Carbon-fiber top, rock solid neck, even across the tonal spectrum and excellent craftsmanship.
