My kids have really gotten into the many Eric Clapton DVD's I have: they love to dance to them and my daughter is constantly asking me to play it for them...
Their favorite was the 2004 Crossroads Concert from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas Texas until I bought the DVD of the '07 Crossroads Concert from Chicago. I have to say it's some of the finest pickin’ I have ever seen. Just a few high points for me: Jeff Beck was fantastic as was his bass player 23 yr old Tal Wilkenfield (and I'm talking about her playing folks); Derek Trucks absolutely burns...and seeing Winwood back on stage was great and he sounded wonderful as well. There was a thread from last year on this ( Crossroads on PBT ) but I missed it. However, I was impressed enough to want to mention the DVD to everyone: here's a hint: Play it LOUD!
It will bring a smile to your face...
It's available for reasonable prices on the bay...
Here is another video of Jeff Beck from the concert not on the DVD:

Now back to the studio...

Yep, this DVD is one of my favorites for sure.

Clapton, McLaughlin, Beck, and many more, with lots of interviews.

Highly recommended.

Yeah, lots of good stuff. The two highlights for me were "Had to Cry Today" and Derek Trucks and his wife Susan Tedeschi doing "Anyday", which first appeared on the Derek and the Dominoes "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" album. How fitting for Derek to be playing songs from that album with Clapton these days after joining and reviving the Allman Bros Band back to the sound they had before Duane died. I was disappointed that the DVD didn't include "Got to Get Better in a Little While", which I understand they also played. Another great song from that same album. This is a DVD definitely worth having.

Check out the DVD "Cream - Royal Albert Hall". It was a reunion show recorded in 2005. Not as much intense picking, commentary, and guest appearences, but if you want a second look at the songs of Cream it is an outstanding performance. Clapton, Baker, and Bruce were all right on their game that night.
