Just in case somebody is interested in this guitar - the pictures don't show the real guitar. At least, in one case. I still have mine. Best regards, Kurt

I reported it, but it ran anyway. Ebay got their money, and hopefully the seller actually sold the same type of guitar, though he didn't sell the one in the photos.

Says he sold his reflex camera and has no other possibility to take pictures. Guitar is serial #605204. He also owns a #47RI . Think he is a reputable seller. I've played Kurt's 1651 for serveral times. Hey, this guitar is the best sounding wood-top Ovation I ever had in hands. That could be a nice Xmas present for myself. Karl

Not only did he steal someone's property in the form of photos, but he's misrepresenting the item he's selling by not stating that the photos are not of the actual guitar for sale. If he hot-linked the images he's stealing bandwidth as well. If they are hot-linked and they were my images I'd replace them on my site with the same images but with the text "Image Stolen From

He did, but it seems the "winner" was not happy and sent it back - because" it was not the guitar he won in the auction". ![]() Sometimes life's good... Best regards, Kurt

In looking at the pictures, it seems like there may have been several different versions of this guitar. For instance I have Schallers on mine but apparently they changed to Pings? More striking, mine has the dark mahogany center stripe in the neck ... both of these above have what appears to be a maple center stripe. Anyone else?

The german distributor offered the 1651 Ltd. as a special order guitar to several german music shops - and you could order it the whole pre fender time. And it was NOT exactly a Reissue. Mine for example has an LX neck with the little hump on the backside of the head (you'll see it in the pictures above), GS bowl, Ping Tuners... But it has the beautiful three maple stripes, as Dave's. And mine is the best wood topped plastic bowl I ever had or heard! All the new features combined with an AAA grade, A-braced top. Best regards, Kurt
