This phrase rings often in my GAS crazed mind: "Bad time no jing"!

Can I trade you for an FD-14, a 1581-5 and a repaired Academy?

Hey our last deal worked well for us both and it did fill my guitar needs for the projects I am headlong into now with no cash exchanged. Perfect.
That Hamer is a real nice guitar Mike and the 12 string Elite T (stealth) sounds better than any Elite I have ever owned. But the best part of that deal was the Deacon 12... man I still can't believe how nice that neck is to play. Please keep your eyes open for the early tuners on this one for me Mike. And Thanks again.

I am need of the cash for this one. I might entertain a partial trade? perhaps something interesting I know someone had a real nice double neck Ibanez I thought was pretty interesting. So even though I want cash I am a guitar nut like the rest of you guy's and can be swayed.
So if anyone is in the market for a long neck this might be the only time you'll find one of these for this kind of price. And $3400 is it. Email me and I'll hold it for you with a small deposit as well. Remember this is not just a Baritone, it is the newest one made with all the very best features. Rumor has it; likely the last of it's kind to be made by Ovation. I had some interest before I hope it is still there.

Thanks Randy

I see a lot of trades being offered in here. This is smart if your short on cash and do not want to venture into the lousy guitar market we have right and you both want to retain the value of your guitars on both ends of any deal. I need guitars I can use with the projects I am working on, I would ultimatley like to replace this one of a kind Baritine with a standard neck Adamas 1 of some sort and perhaps you have some other guitar or are willing to part with a little cash to make this happen. This Baritone is the only one of it's kind and to get one as a trade is as rare as the guitar. I hate to let this go as I know I will never be able to replace it and odds of my having the cashto buy it again if it ever gets sold is pretty low. But I have a real need for guitars right now that I will be using all the time and I can capo this Long Neck but right now it is pristine and will have great value to someone in this condiditon. So I hate to begin using it.

$3,100 cash. I am told my Baritone has lost some value I thought it had due to the fact that is not much more than a used guitar and only valuable to a "limited market" because of it's design and price. Perhaps this is correct. I always thought that this "limited market" was made up of wealthy individuals who are always able to have things like this anytime they wanted. So all things fair, or unfair, this is a good market to be limited to.
Well this is the last of these so I don't care who you are you won't find another like it.
Now..... I have been wrong before but I think the value I have on this great guitar is pretty fair for what it is. I might have been high at $3,700 but not anymore.

I am not working now, and for some time, this is why I find it loosing value.

The same end, different theories.

I can understand my theory better, so I'll go with this one thanks.

my dad used to have a theory about value

he said until someone pays you for it the value is zero.

I think about that often

I was a Boy Scout and we took some fairly aggressive 50 and 90 mile hikes. Toward the end of the trip the "value" of toilet paper and canned ham was amazing.

There just isn't a lot of that Cash-Flow going on now and the number of us that are no longer employed or severely cut back is quite noticeable.

It's hard to sell and hard to buy but there are some valuable lessons.

Well there is a very distinct difference between a "Trade" between two people who each have something the other wants and straight up "Cash" when it comes to "Value"

But what you've both said is quite true.

It's even tougher when the two sides disagree on the perceived value of each others item for trade. Sometimes the crack in the sidewalk becomes a chasm.

Very difficult when one side quotes, current cash sale values, and mixes them up with trade values. Also when one side seems to dictate what each sides trade $ value is with no flexibility to the others thoughts. Too bad too, we were only about $100-$200 away. That is real close on a $3,000 deal.

Other offers are in the works. I am still hopeful I can find some good stage worthy guitars and equipment I can trade for so I do not have to buy what I need. Anyone who wants this please just check and see if you have some equipment sitting around you do not use. You will not find a custom made Baritone Adamas 1 up for trade again..... me thinks....
Thanks for the interest so far.

God I hate to run this but Cash is king and I'd like to stay above water. The trades were a nice option and I thank everyone for the offers, close or not, I guess this is the way I have to try and go.
Picked a bad week to stop sniffin glue, in trying to sell this guitar now.

Randy, I sure wish I had the cash... and that I was better looking, and younger, and had kissed Lnda Vatkis in Jr. High...

But right now I'd settle for more cash.

Saturday not an hour after I listed it a new set of strings (#14's) came in the mail. "BEST SET OF STRINGS I EVER BOUGHT" "apparently worth about $3,000" Since the new strings I and this guitar have become fast friends. Tuned to D it makes a perfect go to 1/2 note detuned guitar for those tough too sing songs....with a quick capo thrown on the first fret. Then with a capo on the second fret is not so bad as a second guitar in standard E tuning. It actually sounds better than my other Custom Adamas 1. It has more sustain and bellowing overall volume. My price on the auction went up to reflect my lack of interest in selling anymore for cash.
The Factory strings must have been #13's they were just too light to detune and sound good. These 14's have the punch I need and the flexability to tune up to the D. The 16's I put on recently were great for super low end but they rendered this guitar almost usless to me as a second stage guitar.
All in all I am very glad I never reached a deal, and I almost did. It would have been a mistake for what this guitar is and the fact that is was made for me from the mothership.
Value has gone up for me. That's my theory and I'm stickin to it.

God I hope I don't get a bid now.........

I though you might want it Jim.

I could live with letting it go for that amount I guess. I am quite safe I think. Those who have the cash for these things are used to buying very cheap as of late. So at this price it won't sell. Hope it is not bothersome to anyone?

Randy
