Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12759 Location: Boise, Idaho | I paid almost that for my beater. Dweezil, in my book the 1713 is a much better sounding guitar. Deep bowl and cedar top with the wider neck of a classical guitar. The 1624 sounds puny in comparison. | ||

I think the Counry Artist also has the narrower nut width. It's a beautiful guitar either way, but I don't believe it is actually the classical. | ||

The only problem was that it was a bit cumbersome and heavy compared to a traditional concert classical guitar. This is probably the one and only case in which I chose a square back over the Ovation. Primarily because the one guitar I keep near the bed to play in the dark at bedtime is my classical. I can fall asleep with a traditional lightweight classical across my body, but that round deep bowl just wants to slide away when I doze off. I just wish I could afford to have a custom high-quality classical guitar(Jose Ramirez)made with a narrower nutwidth. | ||

That price was a bit high for what we have all seen in the past, but everyone here knows that all of the old USA Ovations are usually way under priced for what they are. Maybe people are starting to get wise to the secret? | ||
