Location: Mid-Atlantic | FOR SALE Elite 1868LX , 2005. I don't often throw around the word 'rare', but I challenge anyone (in a polite way) to find one of these guitars for sale. You will find tons of Elite 1778LXs and 2078LXs, but not so the 1868LX. It is the direct sibling of the other guitars mentioned, and fully featured - LX scallopped bracing, OP Pro.... you guys know all that stuff.
The 1868LX was only meant to be sold overseas even though it was made by the folks in New Haven. A few stayed home. Victor Litz Music in Bethesda MD acquired a couple. I was the lucky guy who picked one up. I had been wanting a Shallow body Elite but I did not want a Celebrity or and Elite standard. I wanted the high line. Then I found this 1868LX, perfect. Shortly after I bought it, I realized that no one was selling these. I mean NO ONE. So, I looked online and found that a music store in Australia was selling them for $2100 AUD (about $1750 US). I called the store where I bough it and found that Victor Litz had a special arrangment with Ovation and could often get guitars not available to most retail outlets.
Anyway - I'm selling it.
Its on Ebay. just search 1868LX. If I get a good enough offer here I will take down the ebay auction. My starting price is $625. I think that is fair. Make an offer above that. A new Elite LX is $1700 online. And yes, I know that used can be had much cheaper. As a matter of fact its a great time to buy an Ovation. The market on Ovation Guitars is DOWN. This starts with the retail market. I have talked to a few store owners and Ovations are not selling. Yet the prices are still sky high??? Not so for used, killer time to pick one up. If I get straight financially in the next few months, I'm going to be getting another one. The prices are very low these days used. Oh - this has the molded Ovation case made for shallow bodies. One of the nicest cases I have seen. Only the brand new fender cases I like better. |

Location: Mid-Atlantic | By the way. If not for a very small surface flec (little scratch) on the guitar top near bottom strap, this guitar would be mint. Its near mint, 99%. Gorgeous guitar working perfectly. |

Location: GA USA | Sounds like a great guitar. I love my 1868 and my Elite LX, so I bet it's killer. Did you say what the finish/color was? Pix or an Ebay link would be great. |

Location: GA USA | Seriously, this is pretty much my dream guitar. I say that because my 1868 with the same burst is my favorite guitar I've ever owned, and this one has extra goodies. Someone will be very happy with it. |

Location: GA USA | Sweet. If Karen gets it and I decide I want it later, I can sweet talk her into selling it to me. |
