Hi,
Just joined this forum. I bought this guitar brand new in 1971. Haven't played it much in later years.
Excellent condition. Original case has the replacement leather handle and the lid is a bit warped, but the guitar is good. I would love some honest feedback as to a fair price for it. Serial # F-193. I'll get some decent pictures of it and email them to anyone that wants them
John

Wow. I have 1117-4 serial number F-194. The next guitar made. How cool is that??

BTW, this ought to be a late 1968 or early 1969, not a 1971 according to my research.

It should be identical to this guitar which Eric Clapton was featured playing in an ad ...

I'm not sure what the market would bear on this right now. Certainly not what it should. I think Damon had one of these he recently sold. To the right buyer you might get as much as $600 or maybe a bit more. In reality, more in the $350-500 range I'd bet. But it's only a guess as these things seem to move around day to day and from buyer to buyer. The best advice is to figure out what you want for the guitar, post that up with some quality pictures, and then wait it out. But I can attest that these guitars really ring. I have mine strung Nashville style right now and it works real well.

I think the Clapton connection is worth playing up, especially of you stick it up on eBay. You may get some Clapton fanatics bid it up crazy high.

john,

Welcome to the Ovation Family!

Go to the FAQ and page down to the 17th Q, post some pics and your high end asking price with an 'or best offer'.

Nice model 'O'. Good luck! Tough sellers market right now...
