Location: UK | I have three guitars with three different preamps - '2 knob stero FET'; OP-Pro Studio; and the op-24. Out of the three the OP-24 is the least powerful when playing live through my PA by some considerable amount on the other two it seems. Should this be the case and if so, is it worth trying to replace it with another pre-amp, though not really interested in cutting the bowl to fit a modern set up. So is the OP-24+ any more powerful or the FET 3 and, more importantly, will they fit the hole left by the OP-24?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks. |

I've also noticed a difference in a couple of preamps. It seems like the stacked reissue preamp in my GC RI is more powerful than the OP Pro in my rebuilt 87C.... |
