I am kinda hoping I could get some price predictions on this one! (Unless it stays under $333, I ain't bidding! ) HEY! I think that I see a boo-boo on the skunk-stripe!

I would expect it to go considerably over $333; even higher if it had been one of the a/e's. Y'all realize that I don't post stuff that I am bidding on, Right? :D

Apparently they sell poor quality Chinese imports with very high shipping charges. It doesn't mean that this Patriot isn't a great guitar or that it won't be as advertised. But it does make me cautious. The Patriot is on the very short list of guitars that I'd like to get. I'm almost afraid to bid on this one, since it would get played.

After all, it is just a 33 year-old guitar without a preamp, and a cheezy sticker on it. It might slide under the wire! Anything is possible...

They don't understand that those sellers were shipping for Free not too long ago. (I do remember shipping a guitar cross-country for like, $24  ) And I think that it is gonna pass my $333 limit real soon!

I agree Paulie...they are very choice! It will be interesting to see where this goes; most go in the $700 - $800 range...the retail in '76 was $700...

Seriously, I can't figure out the market at all right now! Did you see the 2003 Collector's that went for over $1300 recently? (And I can't get the same, or even an offer, on my Adamas 1881? Go figure? )

Did you see the 2003 Collector's that went for over $1300 recently? No... But I saw a Flame T that went for $500 the other day. And a coupla/few $800 Adami. (The reason why I just got TWO BC Rich Biches is cuz I bid $222 on one, $250 on another ... I should have been outbid on both! Instead I won both! You Go figger? )

To answer OMA's question: these sold for $700 retail in '76...a lot of money (why I couldn't afford a new one back then)and most today sell for nearly the same amount for a clean example...the rarer A/E's might bring a little more... This sold for: $1001 and change for a $700 to $800 guitar...somebody really wanted it...mine is nearly as nice w/all the paperwork except my case is a bit beat on one end...and I paid $700...Investment? Well, I think the verdict is still out...for a Collector or someone looking for a great playing/sounding/looking Ovation, it is a great vintage piece to own IMHO... I agree about his feedback...looks like mostly late shipping complaints and several misrepresented items...not much excuse for repeated error's there...but the No Returns is pretty standard...I do the same on the items I sell on eBay...but my feedback is perfect and I sell exactly as advertised...The bottom line is that I have items to sell on eBay and I am not a department store: look at the great pic's I provide of each item, read the detailed item descriptions, and if you want it, buy it. I don't want it back...shipping is too expensive. It works for me. ymmv
