Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | first of all.. welcome!!! secondly sorry to hear about the financial woes, and many of us are paddling the same boat, hopefully things will turn around for all of us soon. being in the UK means your Anniversary will sell for a little more than here in the states in most cases. is it strictly an acoustic? or possibly acoustic/electric? over the years the Anniversary models were made with various preamps some mono and some were stereo. They are very nice guitars. most if not all were A-braced legend variations and I personally think they were one of the classiest looking and best sounding O's that were made. if you look at the top of this page, underneath the Ovation fan club logo you will see a link to the Ovation social networking site.. if you click on that and join the associated Ning site.. it has a very easy to use drag and drop photo uploading tool... and it will accept very large hi resolution photos. once you have uploaded the photos to that site you can link the photos to this forum using the tools in full reply form shown under this post... or someone here will post them to this site for you once they are on the Ning site. Good Luck with your sale! and hoping the New Year brings you more prosperity. Regards, Glenn

That will help you research the pricing on this. As a Scotsman now living in the US I will tell you that the appreciation of Ovations has never been strong in the UK (some would argue it aint that great here either), but the members here and many other discerning people love them dearly. That is one of my favourite guitars as I bought my first ovation in 1979 when it was available and couldnt afford that model. So had to settle for the standard Legend (1617). Ignoring the shipping costs from the UK to the US, I have seen them priced from $400-$700 and sometimes struggle to sell even at those prices. Crying shame but those of us who love these guitars all feel that pain. On one occasion a member here claimed they managed to get more that the $700 they were selling for on the board for a local guy who bought it from him, but he did not say what he got for it. Another member tried unsucesfully for several months to sell for around the $500 mark. Your biggest challenge will be getting a fair price for you without a US buyer having to then add $100+ of shipping charges to it. That said there are several UK based Ovation lovers and an increasing number of European members where the shipping costs might make it more affordable for them. All of this is only my opinion and experience to date, but I hope it helps. Where in the UK do you and Mike live?

Am I right thinking you are telling me to hold onto the ovation as the market is swamped with guitars at the moment!
