Honestly, What ever someone is willing to pay and you are willing to sell it for.

I've seen these guitars go for $350.00 up to $650.00 lately. All in atleast very good condition. SO, think in the middle of those figures.

Note my sigline. I own one. GREAT guitar!

this is one of the funniest sellers i've ever encountered.
He expects to get more money than this guitar is worth, and after asking if he would ship it to Poland he stated that he want 100$ extra for handling costs.
ROTFL
100$ for going to post office and writing address? what a nonsense :)

Hey Hey, LBJ! How many songs did you Play Today!
Don't post much lately?

Anyway, like the $500 to China statement, I think that he just doesn't wanna ship international.
I did research shipping overseas once, and once I found-out the cost the buyer chickened-out.

hah,
1st - i bought 2 guitars in USA, Carvin DC400 and Ovation VXT, shipping costs for both ended in $120 range.

Thinking that everyone who lives abroad is a scammer shows that seller is very limited intellectually. It's like saying that in every European capitol there is an Eiffel Tower standing, just because one is in Paris.

I bet that about 50% of high-end made in USA guitars in Europe came from States as a personal import, because of extremely big prices from local dealers (for example - my Carvin DC400 is listed here for 11,200 zł = 3880 USD.
VXT - 8000 zł = 2780 USD

btw,
Old Man Arthur,
not posting much lately because i'm short on time - i've started my own business in may 2009 (Artist Management agency) and it takes majority of my time.

Shipping costs aren't that big when you use USPS. It's not super fast (5-7 days delivery to Poland, then about two weeks in toll office).
And - as far as i know, Paypal offers some scammers protection?

The caps lock was on purpose Galerinski.LBJ there are a lot of scammers out there on ebay, to say that I am limited intellectually shows your ignorance. I didnt start this little exchange of words you are the one who started it.
I wasnt expecting to get more money than the guitar is worth, I was just asking because I dont know what the market is right now???
Oh and for the guitars you have owned good for you. I have owned a few classics myself. How about a pre57 Les Paul, that is now currently in one of the largest collections in the world. Tom Whitrock's collection. And also a 1963 Gibson J-200 Custom.

look,
there is a big difference between those two responses:

1) "I'm sorry but i don't ship overseas"
2) "Sure why not ship to Poland (...). It would a handling fee of $100.00 plus actual shipping costs."

1st answer is much more understandable.

I think Ovation is more respected outside United States and that's the reason why you get all those questions.
More of that, they're rare here (in PL), for now, on polish biggest auction portal (allegro.pl) you have only 4 US-made Ovation's:
damaged Adamas W597-MEWP (for ~1600$), Legend 1866 in mediocre condtition (for ~1400$), 1771 Ballader (~1350 $) and Magnum Bass Vintage ('77 for $1600) so it's obvious that anyone interested in buying Ovation will have to buy on ebay.

LBJ, let it go, man. Even if you win a pissing contest you still get wet. Some people just have to overcompensate for other inadequacies. This noob ain't about to make a sale here, now.

LBJ there are a lot of scammers out there on ebay.
yep... From your negative feedback, it appears that the winner of a truck that you listed on eBay was upset because you did not have the truck to sell to him?

eBay advises the seller and buyer that they are entering into a legally binding contract.

Then you left the buyer retaliatory negative feedback and said, "Listed this truck for a friend. He sold it himself! Had no control over sale!"

It was your listing, thus it was your sale. No excuses.

As G8R said, "This noob ain't about to make a sale here, now."

Oh, I'd be careful about getting nasty around here... the gaters bite.

Merry Christmas... please go away
