My understanding was that the 14 fret Koa guitars (6-strings) were originally intended to be 12-strings but Al didn't think he could sell that many 12-strings so he changed the order. The one 12 stringer that was built as an engineeing proto was never sold to my knowledge. I asked about it, but just got a few cheshire cat smiles. If it's available someplace for sale I would buy it without question.

I have asked Mr. Big to look into a KoaLAVa Baritone and a 12 String so if any of you are anticipating a Tax return or stimulus talk it up with the 2009 #1 Adamas dealer in the entire known universe (so far). You might find one a smidge cheaper but none will serve you better.

Maybe one was not built, or maybe it was I dunno. If Al say no, then the answer is no. But this definitely discussed (not in public). If I WAS gonna have a new 12-string built I think one of these Koa jobs would probably be the one. If Lightfoot (Gordon?) IS looking for a 12 fretter (6 string) I think there is one for sale. Is it Fred? I know MINE ain't going anywhere.
