He doesn't strike me as a "knitter"... I've seen him many, many times (14?) in the last 20 years and his stage gear remains remarkably consistent. Seems to me, he knows his craft well enough to know what works and how to get tone through technique not the latest gadgets (or guitars)....
Let's face it, he has toured continuously since the late 70's... he's a working musician, not a "Rock Star" and he uses good tools and uses them well...
(I really am way too much a RT geek... I can't even apologize for it) |

Jeff, Thompson should be playing your Custom Adamas, but with electronics. I'm serious. Mid depth bowl for comfort, 1 3/4" neck, great acoustic sound and great plugged in sound. Road worthy. Something like that would be perfect for him..... He ain't get'n it. I have boundries.
(...He needs 14 frets to body anyway.)
I just left an email asked if he has ever tried an Adamas... |

What's a "knitter" type? A prissy, "toasted-wheat overtones" type... with deep-pockets. |
