The tuners, pre-amp & electronics were replaced..the cavity cover were cut by hand & replaced..the guitar is in very good condition except for a few light scratches that were there before the flood. (see the photo that says side scuffs) the guitar is a little dusty from being stored to completely ready..they would not let me have it back till it was OK’d by Ed. It took a year…..the pictures were taken on a Sony Cybershot so are not the best..there are plenty of ‘reflections’ but hopefully you can see the guitar enough to know it is a ‘one of a kind’ unique instrument. I’m not a gut string guy & have no use for this. The case was donated by Martin & is new, but does have a few small paint drops on it from when the areas were repainted in Soundcheck-Nashville. The guitar fits in it fine with a couple towels. Ovation wanted $5000 to replace the guitar, so we chose to restore it. Ed Beaver will answer any questions you have about the restoration. 616-714-5593. I will entertain trade for EA Vipers or Parker Flys otherwise, $1450.00 is what I’m asking…the last 2 pictures are the guitar when I got it..as you can see it’s not too much different http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/full_front... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/frontbody.... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/backbody.J... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/headstock.... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/backneck.J... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/neck.JPG http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/preampside... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/othersides... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/casetop.JP... http://timashley.tripod.com/pix/viper%20gallery/GreenGut/caseopen.J... The 63's are great guitars, totally in line with the Gibson CE as far as quality and sound are concerned. I do think the necks play differently though. I always thought that Ovation really cut themselves short by applying black to the back, instead of the natural finish your guitar has. Good luck on your sale. That is a beautiful guitar. | ||
