Joined: November 2004 Posts: 4413 | Early this year I had to custom order a nylon string with a radius on the neck because unlike Martin and Wechter there isn't an O that fits the bill. Playing Bongo Boy's Ute leaves me in love but wanting a cutaway - but there is no 12 fret to the body, cutaway or not, in the whole range (except the classical - and that doesn't have a proper classical neck any more). There have been several mentions of an Adamas baritone being wanted, not to mention the banj-O. So what else is missing from the line-up that should be there?

(Imagine the orchestra! No sound system and the strings are drowning the horns! Baj-O Sext-O Then there's a whole line of Mexican/Spanish guitars. Made by Ovation these would be louder than ever, and popular with the wandering minstrels in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, etc.

Actually you make a good point. As far as I know the only guitars of the Traditional series that were ever built must have been the display ones at NAMM. I have NEVER seen one in the store, nor have I ever seen anybody playing one anywhere. That's really a shame, because people are missing what to me is the "real" Ovation. Dave

Of the guitar like instruments: resonator, "A"-tuned guitar and lap slide. But they have no insentive to do these, though I think they should try an "A"-tuned deal in an Applause, just to see if there's any demand. As for the rest, well how about a charango and a quatro. I mean you could keep going on and on ...

The Preacher. The Viper. The world is poorer for the loss of these fine guitars............It would be great to have them back!

Which brings us neatly around to the "Full line dealer" thread. If the factory made the full range and had one oulet in every major city atleast that carried them..... Who knows?
