Russ Weatherwax lived down the street from me when I was growing up, so Lassie (there were actually several) was the neighborhood dog. ("What's that Lassie? Bobbo fell down a well?").

Sorry. :o Growing up in southern California when I did it was all aerospace, TV/Movies, Music, and surfing. So those involved were our neighbors, and there were a lot of them ... not just the actors, but also cameramen, soundtechs, costumers, set designers, producers, directors, etc. One of my best friend's dad was the lead writer for Laugh-In. It all seemed so normal to us at the time; they were normal people living normal lives. Their kids went to school with us, were on our little league teams, and had birthday parties, etc. The families would shop in the grocery stores and come over for BBQs. They'd be one of the families having fun at our holiday block parties. It was only the really big stars and the producers who lived in Beverly Hills and Bel Air. The rest of them had to work hard and oftentimes struggled like the rest of the families to make ends meet while waiting for their next break. My dad used to tell me that it was the toughest business he ever knew.

How about "Life of Riley"? I don't think anyone mentioned "The Rifelman" either. We had Sally Star and Bozo the Clown showing 'toons. My dad was Mr. Green Jeans doctor for awhile. "Tootor Turtle"? "Help Mr Wizard. help! Drizzle, drazzle, dradle, drone Time for this one to come home"

Mighty Mouse! We used to shut all the blinds and curtains, tie blankets around our necks as capes and jump off the back of the couch to fly.

Roger, my singing partner, and I used to watch the Pink Panther Comedy Hour and a Half on Saturday mornings. We were 26 and 24 at the time, and our wives still laugh at it.
When I was a kid? I liked the live action stuff. Sky King, Circus Boy (with Mickey Dolenz)
Happy holidays--whichever one you're doing.

I always thought Banacek was the coolest of the cool. Except for Jim Rockford. But that was later.

How 'bout the cartoon aliens contingent? The Great Gazoo from the Flintstones, and Marvin the Martian.

Then again, how about Martin Milner and Kent McCord: "One Adam-12, One Adam-12, see the man..."

I used to love to watch "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriette". I always wanted to see what Ricky would sing at the end of the show.

Yes I always liked "Hee Haw" too. :)

My brother got a toy Supercar for Christmas back when they were on TV. We were disappointed they didn't really fly. We were even more disappointed that they didn't land worth a damn. I don't know if it made it much past Christmas day.
