| Didn't this guy get eaten by a Bear on one of his trips??? or is this what this movie is about??
My new DVD is the new R30 Rush DVD THought I would mention this here... Hope it's OK? It is very good! Have not seen these guy's since I was in my 20's! Much Like "YES" these guy's still play perfectly live and for a three piece band rock the house Big Time!
Worked out Red Barchetta on the bass after watching Geddy but I just can't get past the first verse section with the vocals...after that he goes way, way out of my limited range....and it just does not sound right if it is not done with a real high voice! Man I hope we find a super high voiced singer someday. I can only do about half of what I am attempting "well". Vocals are without a doubt the biggest part of making a good band great! And we are not quite good yet! Although when we are on we nail it!

Location: NJ | A "BigBox" video store MIGHT have it for rental, but being that it's a 20+year old Disney flick, I doubt it. I used to have a VHS copy, but the ex has it. Amazon's got it on DVD for $15 . . it's worth buying . . . |

Location: closely held secret | Really. And new for $170!!! This place might have the widescreen for $17.24 - but the info says "1.85:1 Widescreen, Pan & Scan" which means both formats. I'd contact them first to find out which it really is. Apparently the widescreen is out-of-print and hard-to-find.
On the other hand, Netflix has it... ;) |

Location: closely held secret | Ok, more info. Although Amazon doesn't specify 'widesceen', and it doesn't say it on the case front as most of them do, the release date does coincide with the release date given on ultimatedisney.com, which is listed as anamorphic widescreen.
So the Amazon listing may in fact be widescreen, though it's unusual for Amazon not to specify it. The bad news is no extra features at all...
I know it seems silly to put this much emphasis on whether or not a dvd is widescreen, but since going big-screen, I find standard 4x3 format very unfullfilling as a movie experience. Try comparing a 'pan and scan' version against the widescreen version sometime. It's amazing how much you don't get to see. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Randy, I don't think Rush was born when I was in my 20s. Back then I could have helped you out on the high pitched lead. I sang bass, but I could do baritone, treble, alto and soprano with falsetto. Somewhere with age I lost that. You'll probably have to find a young guy.
Back to movies, I liked Never Cry Wolf, but I agree it should be seen only on the big screen. We just have a 27 inch TV and watching Troy on it the other night was a waste of 3 hours, except for the part where my wife said she really didn't think Brad Pitt was good looking. Takes a strange woman to marry me. |
