I was on some websites and these amps seem unavailable. Is Trace still in business?

I think that I read somewhere in the last 6 months or so that they are gonzo.

Gibson own (or owned) the Trace Acoustic brand and were showing a 50watt USA made amp at NAMM, either last year or '04. I'm not sure if any product actually reached the stores. I think I recall reading that Trace-Elliot are back in business in the UK, but are building bass gear only right now.

I would hazard a guess that they priced themselves right out of the acoustic market. I always liked the sound but never thought they were worth the money and over the last 5 years SWr/AER/Fishman and several of the PA makers have really raised the bar at the top end, and Boss and Marshall make great gear at half the price.

Paul - I noticed a couple months or so back Peter Cook was knocking out what appeared to be the last of the Trace Elliott acoustic stuff over here at a kncok down price.

They have a used 30 watt Trace at the local GC for $299. At half that I might consider it. Coincidentally, I was reading the intro to the Ovation book last night with Bill's smiling face and noticed he mentione Trace Elliot as one of the Kaman companies. Also said what a great time it was to be in the music business. 1996.

Good Idea.

I'll find out where the ex's lawyer lives, and look under his . . .

Careful lawyers, rats, and snakes have a lot in common.

Not fair!

There's some things even rats and snakes won't do.

(yeah, sorry. It's a tourettes-like thing)

Bill, some things (like lawyer bashing) never change. Great picture, though.
