Location: California		The first string on my Balladeer is not as loud as the others which have fairly even balance. Weighn5 has posted some suggestions for improving balance with thinline pups. Here's what worked for me.
Weighn5 says there needs to be some movement of the saddle for the pup to work and he gently files the front and back of the saddle over the quiet string. I was about to do that but tried someting else first. It seems to me that not only does there need to be movement but there also should be fairly even contact pressure of the feet which are on the bottom of the saddle.
So what I did was cut a small piece of desoldering braid and place it just under the the first string saddle foot. Desoldering braid is flat, braided copper wire. The braid I have is exactly the width of the metal clip which holds the saddle and pup.
Balance is excellent now. I think this braided wire allows some movement of the saddle foot over the first string and provides more even pressure.

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands		I've never heard of a lot of things, and movement on the pickup is one of them. I always thougt it was even pressure. Loose ... nah. Concept is pressure.
