The shirt is fairly new. Then I noticed the black Ovation T-shirt I got from last year’s factory tour has the same wear. What’s up with that? Then I figured it out. I have worn both shirts during several stand-up gigs, and when standing and playing my Ovation the bowl rubs right on the worn spots on my shirts!! It's the textured surface! Its tearing up the cotton fibers! Now I acknowledge that I am…..shall we say.….a bit girth-some around the mid-section, but it seems like there ought to at least be a warning label or something! Anyone else noticing this issue? Maybe I need to consider getting a shiny-bowl model.

I bought a bunch of Nike/Head "athletic" t-shirts in assorted colors (black). They're made out of a Lycra material that's "breathable". Some of them are smooth, and some are a real tight "basketweave" knit. I started to notice that the knitted ones started to "cling" to the bowl paint, and eventually I'd have all these "pulls" in the front of the shirts. . . . s'best t'go with the silk Hawaiian shirts . . .

It'll protect your clothes from the abrasiveness of the bowls. Or play in the nude ... Dave

It might be because my two gigging guitars are older and the texture on the back may have smoothed-down a bit . . . The one that I really used to have a problem with was the UltraDeluxe 12-string (now residing with SteveChapman). For some reason, that thing has a REALLY textured bowl! It's like sandpaper.
