| oops, sorry, pls excuse my big thumbs - I'll continue.
I own a model MRG 868 Standard Elite green flame maple top acoustic electric. I have searched online extensively, including your helpful site with chart showing the model # definitions, trying to appraise it. I'd like to learn if it was US made, est. mfr date, if the green top is a limited edition est. resale value, and such. Any advice? |

I bought my MRG868 at MARS Music in Charlotte in 2001. I've never seen another elite like it either. I've always assumed they were made exclusively for MARS Music (hence the MRG), but I could be wrong. MARS went out of business a couple years later and Sam Ash moved in (at least at the Charlotte store).
They are USA made and at the time, I think I paid around $750 for it.
I have seen Korean-made Celebritys that look similar:

| @ Fitch – I've found it at last. Thanks man! This is definitely it... exact same guitar – only mine comes without autographs-n-all - but there it is. Mine was from "Mars" too - but I got it from another guy who bought it there. He knew I thought it was a really beautiful guitar - gave me a sweet deal on it. I wonder what a fair asking price might be for it today, in really good condition? |
