Hi,

I'm not sure but it seems to be an ELITE 1537-4 upgraded with an OP-24+ preamp.
The seller says "built in 1978...".
I thought that Elite model was not available before 1982???

J :)

I was thinking the same thing when I ran across this auction. Tried to blow-up the picture. Looks like the binding is wood laminate. Could end up being a good grab for someone.

The 1537 is on my wish list but I'd like to keep my money for the #47 reissue and I'd like to have one with the originals wood knobs!!

The auction ended in 6 days and maybe could it be a good deal if the final price is not too high... ;)

Original battery-screw at the waist under the battery-garage?
Binding appears to be wood, but not the multiple plies?
The Item Location says, Moosup,CT... this one might have an interesting story.

It's a modified 1537. It's got a blank stereo jack in the rear and I can make out the 5ply binding...

I'm guessing they got some bad info about the date. Has a good ding in the lower bout near the back edge too....

A number of us who own 1537's have refused to change the 2 knob configuration. Here's somebody who made the change.... it strikes me as odd.

Got an email from that 1537 seller; his ad now shows the label serial number to be 302252, reference says it's an '83.
